What is The Music Kit?
The Music Kit, Lessons by Design, is home to a unique learning hub, where passion and flair for teaching meet personalized design.
At the Music Kit, I combine my clinical work in Speech-Language Pathology, MA.Ed., and 45 years of Music teaching to provide education on piano, guitar, ukulele, fiddle, and harmonica to all learners.

My Mission
My mission is to reach all students regardless of learning ability, including preschoolers, adults, gifted and challenged learners, students with autism, Down Syndrome, blindness, deafness, dyslexia, and medical challenges.
My Philosophy
My philosophy expressed through TheMusicKit, is that “Music study is a valued life endeavor for anyone, providing a natural foundation for growth in many areas.” For example, in my studio, the average 4-year-old fiddler manages 11 technical elements at once while playing the first piece, providing a springboard to critical thinking and other skills. These include gains in brain development, self-discipline, work ethic, stamina, patience, concentration, organization, fine motor skills, and confidence. To stand and take a bow to a full audience after a performance draws a swell of confidence and motivation in any performer.
Suzuki, traditional, and multi-modal learning strategies are all combined in my teaching practice. I actively support techniques for student motivation and encourage robust parent/child/teacher teamwork.
